Which model you choose for making money is totally up to you, and you can make a lot of money or a little bit. Offering something unique is an important part of becoming successful in e-commerce. Avoid the mindset that the internet has leveled the field because the field is still slanted not in your favor. It's really all up to you because there are no rules about how many products you can have. There's a lot to learn, and you need to know how to gain an edge in your marketing with your products.

What you do in your marketing is up to you, and you can often just do what others do if it works. Deviating from this is called reinventing the wheel, and you shouldn't do it because there's no reason to do it. Being different just for the sake of being different is no guarantee that it will be a winning strategy. Focus on something more important than just standing out of the crowd because that will not mean you'll do well.

You basically never want to come back after the sale and tell people they owe more money for shipping - just eat the costs. You can find different ways of dealing with shipping, but it's best to be clear about everything you do. You'll need to find the best carriers that will be able to deliver and even give you the lower prices. There's a lot of ways to make mistakes, but in time you'll be fine and find the best way to go.

If you want to get into web e-commerce, then you just learn and then get into it and stick with it. It takes a lot of hard work and time, and most people are not willing to do that.
